Once hated by the purists and the laughing stock of Porsche haters, the 996 generation is now winning hearts the world over!
The first water-cooled 911 was a huge leap from the air-cooled icons its predecessors were, but there were a number of upsides! Firstly, if we’re practical for a second – every car nowadays is water-cooled, so time tells us this was the way to go forward. Secondly, in terms of performance, aerodynamics, ergonomics and more, the 996 is levels above the beloved 993 (which we also adore!), its direct predecessor.
